The Valley Health System GME Consortium

Welcome to the Valley Health System Graduate Medical Education Consortium in Las Vegas. We are proud to offer ACGME-accredited residency programs in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry and Transitional Year.

Our mission is to provide a comprehensive and compassionate academic experience that prepares residents to deliver exceptional care while understanding the broader social determinants of health. We are deeply committed to training physicians who are not only clinically skilled but also socially responsible by being advocates for their patients and communities who lead with empathy, integrity and purpose.

Our programs offer excellent didactic teaching, meaningful research opportunities and robust experiences across multiple hospital systems within the Las Vegas Valley. Residents actively participate in scholarly activity and quality improvement initiatives that strengthen clinical reasoning, advance patient safety and promote lifelong learning. Through these experiences, our trainees gain the skills and confidence to provide evidence-based care in a variety of clinical settings.

Although Las Vegas is a major metropolitan area, it retains a strong sense of community and connection. Our residents experience firsthand the city’s unique spirit of hospitality, reflected both in the people we serve and the institutions that make up our healthcare system. This sense of belonging, teamwork and service to others defines the culture of our GME Consortium.

Outside the hospital, residents can enjoy everything that makes Las Vegas extraordinary, from world-class dining, entertainment and arts to outdoor adventures at Red Rock Canyon, Lake Mead and Mount Charleston. Whether exploring the city’s vibrant neighborhoods or the natural beauty surrounding the valley, our trainees gain not only professional growth but also a rich and balanced life experience.
