Valley Health System Hospitals Honored by Nevada Donor Network for Best Practices, Education and Initiatives

Valley Health System hospitals, departments and individual employees of The Valley Health System were honored by the Nevada Donor Network during its annual Southern Nevada Hope Dinner, which honors and thanks vital partners who make organ and tissue donation possible throughout Nevada.

Most Distinguished Hospital Winners 

Valley Hospital Medical Center, Las Vegas, NV
Henderson Hospital, Henderson, NV

The Most Distinguished Hospital awards are categorized by donation potential and based on a set number of metrics for best practices, as well as participation in donation-related education and initiatives. 

Outstanding Emergency Department 

Winner — Desert View Hospital, Pahrump, NV
Finalist — Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center, Las Vegas, NV

This award is in recognition of outstanding emergency departments that have implemented practices and processes to make donation a priority, while also balancing the many needs of emergency care.  

Outstanding Adult Critical Care Unit 

Winner — Summerlin Hospital Medical Center, Las Vegas, NV

This award is given to an Adult Critical Care Unit (Intensive Care Unit/ICU) that worked collaboratively with Nevada Donor Network to maximize donation for our heroic adult donors.  

Outstanding Hospital Champion

Winner — Dr. Kimberly Foxworth, DNP, MSN, BSN, RN, CCRN, RCIS, CPHQ, NEA-BC, Assistant Chief Nursing Office, Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center, Las Vegas, NV

Finalist — Tanya Lazorwitz, RN, Summerlin Hospital Medical Center

Each of these individuals works relentlessly to promote donation in their workplace and community. They are pivotal in bringing awareness to donation and transplantation.
