Pharmacy Manager Eunice Lee Answers Your CentRx Questions

CentRx Pharmacy, Valley Health System, Las Vegas, NevadaOctober 21, 2020

Q: What would you like people to know about CentRx?

We are a full-service outpatient pharmacy, located inside the Spring Valley Hospital between Admitting and the Emergency Room (ER). We provide concierge service (med-to-bed service, free of delivery charge) to patients who are being discharged from the hospital so they can go home without stopping by the pharmacy for their prescriptions. We service hospital employees, ER patients and walk-in patients as well.

Q: How has CentRx been a help to hospitalized patients/caregivers during COVID-19?

Especially during our current COVID situation, CentRx Pharmacy's med-to-bed service is highly beneficial to patients. Avoiding an additional stop at the pharmacy reduces the COVID exposure risk. Not only that, many times we provide free medications to patients when they are available through free trials/copay savings cards! If any prescriptions are not covered by insurance, therapeutic changes (substitutions) are made prior to discharge, so patients can be assured they are getting all their prescribed medications before going home.

Q: Is there a med-to-bed anecdote that you can share?

[Earlier this summer], our techs delivered discharge prescriptions to an elderly patient who expressed her sincere gratitude and happiness for our med-to-bed service. She was very happy to have all her meds with her before leaving, especially in this heat. She was also very glad that we were able to fill her pain meds.

Q: What is a phrase or motivation that our pharmacy delivery techs have to share with others?

We care for all our patients here at Spring Valley. We are here to take great care of each and every patient, and it is our pleasure to service our community!

Q: What services/medications/other items are available at CentRx?

We carry a full line of over-the-counter medications and other products, as well as durable medical equipment (wheelchairs, walkers, bedside commodes, canes, etc.) at extremely competitive prices, compared to a typical medical supply store.

Q: When did CentRx open?

CentRx Pharmacy at Spring Valley Hospital opened in July 2015 and has been serving the public ever since!

Q: What else would you like to share?

Many people have a bias that an outpatient pharmacy located inside the hospital charges more for their prescriptions than a large retailer such as Walgreens® or CVS Pharmacy®, but this could not be farther from the truth. Copays are set by the insurance plan, so patients pay the same copay, regardless of where they fill their prescriptions. Also for those who are uninsured, our discounts often exceed those of the big-box stores and large pharmacy chains. Please take advantage of our free med-to-bed delivery service! The CentRx Pharmacy team cares for every patient we come across, and we try our best to make your experience here at Spring Valley Hospital top-notch!

In addition to Spring Valley Hospital, you can find CentRx Pharmacies with inpatient and outpatient services at the following Valley Health System hospitals: Centennial Hills Hospital, Desert Springs Hospital and Summerlin Hospital.
